Click here for full review GRYPHON TRIO NOMINATED FOR TWO JUNO AWARDS Toronto…CARAS (Canadian Academy of Recording Artists) recently announced that the Gryphon Trio is nominated for two Junos in the categories of Classical Album of the Year (Solo or Chamber Ensemble) for their recording of Shostakovich’s Complete Works for Piano Trio/Silvestrov: Postlude DSCH and Classical Album of the Year (Vocal or Choral Performance) for their recording of Christos Hatzis’s Constantinople. These two albums represent the Gryphon Trio’s 7th and 8th recordings for the Analekta label. They have both received much critical acclaim including a four star rating from the Toronto Star for the Shostakovich recording and four stars from La Presse for the Constantinople recording. The 2008 JUNO Award winners will be announced on Sunday, April 6th, broadcast
on CTV from Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome. TORONTO'S GRYPHON TRIO RECEIVES INAUGURAL ESTHER GELBERT DEVELOPMENT FUND COMMISSION The Canadian Music Centre is pleased to announce that the first commission
from the Esther Gelber Development Fund has been awarded to the Gryphon
Trio, a Toronto-based internationally-renowned classical music ensemble.
The Gryphon Trio has championed and is widely recognized for its active
commissioning of new works by Canadian as well as international contemporary
composers. The award was announced at a post performance
