Gryphon Trio and Friends

125th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada
Gryphon Trio with guests Russell Braun (baritone), Monica Whicher (soprano), Graham Oppenheimer (viola), Noémi Racine-Gaudreault (violin), and Ewashko Singers celebrate the 125th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada. Performed this evening are Antonín Dvorák’s intensely emotional “Dumky” Trio; a selection of sacred choral works by Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov; a selection of works featured in the Ukrainian Art Song Project and a new chamber arrangement of Larysa Kuzmenko’s oratorio, Golden Harvest, which was commissioned for the 2016 quasquicentennial. Presented in collaboration with Capital Ukrainian Festival.
